Scrubs That Actually Fit and Last

Finding scrubs that fit right and don't fall apart after five washes should not feel like winning the lottery — but here we are. For years I wore only Aviator brand scrubs. They were especially good for the ER because of the pocket layout and they used the same fabric as on flight suits. No idea what it was called but it lasted for years. The owner of Aviator died years ago and they are no longer available but someone picked up the design and calls them Navigator scrubs. I have never owned them but they look much the same.

These days I wear landau scrub shirts and $20 cargo pants from Walmart because fashion is a foreign language to me. Cherokee is a very popular name and is about the same lower price point as Landau. Landau fits me like a glove while Cherokee doesn't come close to fitting me so know your brand before ordering a closet full. Your mileage may vary.

I don't know the first thing about Greys Anatomy stuff because I don't watch medical shows on TV and never will but I have known some coworkers that like them. Figs looks to be somewhere between Navigator and the others in price point but the fabric they use looks pretty impressive. I have never worn them myself.

Pro tip: Look for stretch panels and reinforced stitching — your back (and your dignity) will thank you. If your main goal every shift is to marry a doctor (you know who you are) then I got nothin for you.
